Mobility Work now allows you to visualize your equipment in 3D in your CMMS application. The integration of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology into our application is the result of joint work with our partners RS Components, 1st horizon and Sitedesk.

Mobility Work thus becomes the only CMMS solution that integrates a BIM vision directly into its application, and RS Components is the only distributor to provide its customers with such a range of maintenance solutions through its RS iMaintenance ecosystem.

BIM and CMMS integration: the result of a unique ecosystem

The ecosystem made up of RS Components, leading distributors on the B2B market for industrial supplies and electronic components, Mobility Work and our partners 1st horizon, a provider of measurement and mapping services, and Sitedesk, a specialist in 3D imaging and digital spaces, allows us to offer our customers unique features of their kind.

By also offering the setting up IoT sensors for predictive maintenance, RS Components offers the possibility to further increase the benefit of the integration of BIM into CMMS by visualizing these sensors and by reducing manual readings in areas at risk.

The advantages of BIM

BIM, or Building Information Modeling, is an intelligent process based on a 3D model through which maintenance professionals can obtain the information they need for optimized management of buildings, infrastructures and equipment.

Thanks to the 3D visualization offered by BIM, it thus becomes possible to have a full view of the equipment, in particular electricity, water and gas circuits, and production tools in general.

Some of the concrete benefits noted by BIM users include:

  • The securing interventions thanks to remote visualization;
  • The use of IoT sensors to carry out surveys in dangerous environments and limit the risks for technicians;
  • access to technical data equipment.

More generally, the integration of BIM into CMMS streamlines the communication between the various maintenance stakeholders and contributes to the overall improvement of the quality of production processes.

This tool therefore helps companies to meet the two main challenges: TCO (total cost of a property throughout its life) and the CSR (corporate social responsibility).

BIM and CMMS: how does it work?

To implement BIM in a company, building and/or equipment data modeling is carried out with information from various sources.

The tool then groups together in an ergonomic interface integrated into Mobility Work CMMS, via the cloud, all the technical data necessary for the teams to operate the building, with direct access to the technical data sheets corresponding to the installations.
