Mobility Work, the “maintenance barometer” in a mechanical engineering company

Since 2020, Mobility Work has been the central maintenance management tool of the mechanical company CMC Chamant. Christophe Peckeu, maintenance and security manager, agreed to explain to us everything that the CMMS application brings him on a daily basis.
Could you present the activities of your company and the functions that you occupy?
CMC Chamant is a Société de Mécanique : we manufacture various mechanical parts, with traditional or digital machines, for many sectors of activity and customers, as much for farmers in our region as for large groups such as Saint-Gobain or ArcelorMittal, for the pharmaceutical industry, for aeronautics...
Our company has around 70 employees, including 3 people in the maintenance department. As far as I am concerned, I am a maintenance manager in our workshop and a safety manager on external sites.
What is Mobility Work for?
We use Mobility Work for all our internal maintenance activities, to supervise all our interventions on the machines. The application is very useful for us to identify breakdowns that have already occurred, to know how long the interventions last, how much they cost us...
We also note in Mobility Work all periodic maintenance, thanks to maintenance plans.
We use it to assign interventions, for the follow-up of spare parts, for stock management. It is clearly our central IT tool.
I even use Mobility Work for the maintenance of our car fleet, in particular thanks to maintenance plans.
How did you manage maintenance before and how did you set up Mobility Work?
Before adopting Mobility Work, we worked a lot through simple oral exchanges, and also with fault sheets. So there was not even fault tracking..
Setting up was simple. : I quickly learned how to use the application myself and then explained everything to my colleagues.

What does Mobility Work offer you? What do you think are the most interesting advantages of this CMMS?
Already, it's a very good cheat sheet, you can easily find old breakdowns, So we have a good follow-up of maintenance histories..
It is also very useful for stock tracking, and for the effective implementation of our preventive maintenance plans : the application reminds each technician of the preventive tasks they must perform. So we are applying our preventive routines much better than before..
In addition, Mobility Work helps us to track maintenance costs, to adopt an approach ofcontinuous improvement, etc. The indicators provided by the application serve us to maintenance barometer, in a way.

As a maintenance manager, I also use the mobile application a lot, for example when I am on the go, which allows me to do the same follow-up work as if I were on site.
Finally, when we have questions or a problem, the support team answers us quickly, and as soon as there are changes in the application we are informed, and it is clear every time.
A big thank you to Mr. Peckeu for taking the time to answer our questions!
