How to create and read counters in your CMMS?

Managing counters in your CMMS is one of the activities essential to the maintenance of your machine park. Meter readings make it possible to track and measure the condition of equipment, machinery, vehicles, and other assets. This information complements the intervention sheets of technicians and subsequently makes it possible to improve decision-making. In addition, meter readings are one of the best ways to manage predictive maintenance operations.
Today, most of Next generation CMMS have this feature. The Mobility Work maintenance management platform allows you to create and manage all your counters directly in your application. Thanks to its mobile version, maintenance and production teams can enter this information directly at the foot of the machines.
Manage your counters in Mobility Work CMMS
All your counters are easily accessible from the main screen of your CMMS. To display them, click on” Counters ”, in the menu on the left side of your screen. Do you want to create a new counter? All you have to do is click on the button” Create ” at the top right of the screen. Then indicate the noun of the counter, theunity And the Unit name desired.
Here are a few examples of configurable counters in your CMMS:
- pulse counters;
- hour counters;
- water meters;
- electricity meters;
- power meters;
- gas meters;
- compressed air meters;
- temperature meters;
- odometers;
- counters to measure production downtime.
Classic CMMS software often offers to create your counter and associate all the equipment on which they are applied. This work can be long and tedious if you need to add your 60 forklifts to your counter.
The philosophy of Mobility Work CMMS is different. During the creation of a maintenance intervention on your maintenance application, you can at any time add a counter value from the activity of your intervention. The machine counter is automatically associated with your equipment and will then allow you to group your equipment by meter.
On the sheet of your equipment, you can view the counters used and the associated values cumulatively or averaged per counter, the description of the intervention on which the counter was used and the date it was read.
The values thus collected in your CMMS allow you to improve your maintenance planning. The analytical tool will then allow you toanalyze all the information linked to your meter and your maintenance interventions in your CMMS to help you make the best possible decision.
