Interview with Danone on the use of Mobility Work

Since 2018, Danone, one of the world leaders in the food industry, has been using Mobility Work CMMS in several of its factories and sites, spread over several countries. The latest Danone factory to join the Mobility Work community is the DANONE Fresh Produce factory in Le Molay-Littry. Gilles Noël, Industrial Performance Engineer, agreed to review this deployment.

Can you tell us about your company and the title/function you hold? How long ago?

Hello, my name is Gilles NOEL, I have been a performance engineer at Danone since October 2022. I am in the Molay-Littry factory, which employs around 150 people and we mainly manufacture the products Lait 2 Vaches, Petit Suisse, Danette Pop, Danonino...

What are the main maintenance challenges specific to your sector and your business?

At Danone, the main challenges encountered are related to safety, food quality, which includes the cleanliness of equipment, compliance with food standards and the reliability of our machines. Maintenance makes it possible to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous production of our lines. It is also essential to carry out all preventive Food Safety maintenance on time, to have a history of interventions in terms of traceability and also of continuous improvement.

How did you manage your maintenance before you started using Mobility Work?

Before using Mobility Work, we used another CMMS to monitor preventive maintenance, spare parts stocks and a communication tool to track the history of interventions.

How did the adoption phase of Mobility Work take place in your company?

The Mobility Work application interface allowed the tool to be adapted very quickly. Unlike other tools, the connection is easy and the learning phase is very fast. In addition, being able to combine all of our needs in a single tool helps a lot in the adoption phase.

What were the main selection criteria when choosing a CMMS solution?

Its ease of use! But also the traceability of the history of interventions for each equipment, the vision of the workload for each employee, the criticality of our equipment and reliable stock monitoring.

What are the key features that you use on Mobility Work?

  • Creating tasks
  • Follow-up/History of interventions
  • Location of spare parts
  • Monitoring spare parts stocks
  • Monthly expense

In your opinion, what is the main added value of the Mobility Work CMMS application?

The user-friendly interface

For businesses considering adopting a CMMS solution, what advice would you give based on your experience with Mobility Work?

I advise them to:

  • Define their needs, come and see how CMMS works in other factories, this is when you can really see the advantages/disadvantages of the tools according to needs.
  • look at the compatibility of CMMS with other tools and software already used in their factory
  • Do an Agile deployment in order to use the tool quickly and accelerate the adoption phase.

A big thank you to Mr. Gilles NOEL for taking the time to answer our questions!
