Anthony Leparoux is an automation engineer, a CMMS user, an electrical engineer, an MES manager and a technology watch manager at the foundry. FMGC, in Soudan (44), a subsidiary of Farinia Group and European number 1 in the production of gray cast iron counterweights. An early user of the Mobility Work next-generation maintenance management platform, he tells us about his user feedback.

Mobility Work: “How did you find out about Mobility Work? What convinced you to test the product?

Anthony Leparoux: The product was born in our office, so we saw the beginnings of Mobility Work, as well as its implementation. We were immediately convinced by its simplicity, its ergonomics, the ease of entering and searching: it was a precursor tool in terms of CMMS. The tool has been in place in our factory since its creation, and works very well. Everyone uses it: Mobility Work is now one of the reference software in our factory, both for maintenance, production, and purchasing management. We do more than maintenance with Mobility Work.

What are the advantages of Mobility Work in your opinion?

It's very simple: Mobility Work is the perfect mix between Facebook and Le Bon Coin, that's why it's called the “Facebook of maintenance”. In particular, the application includes a search bar as on web browsers, which makes it possible to quickly find equipment and activities. The main advantage of Mobility Work CMMS is above all its ease of use. The social network aspect is part of our daily lives.

What are your company's future projects concerning Mobility Work?

For the moment we work mainly on a piecemeal basis, and we use Mobility Work when we need new functions. One of our main projects concerns checklists. We still use paper media during checks, and when checklists are available in Mobility Work, it will be possible to associate them directly with the task, from a smartphone, tablet or other device. Once the task is completed, the user can check it off and enter it directly into Mobility Work, which avoids exchanging Excel files, additions after the fact, omissions...

What functionality that does not yet exist would you like to see developed primarily on Mobility Work?

So there are checklists; I am also thinking of the functionality that makes it possible to link with machine data, which is not yet in place in our factory: for example, my MES retrieves a certain amount of production data, machine data, because we are quite automated. I would therefore like to be able to send data from running meters, operating meters, which will trigger alerts, for example going to check the engine, check the oil level... and all this from machine counters. Our site is very automated, and we are reporting a lot of information; that would be a very useful improvement.

Are you satisfied with the responsiveness of the Mobility Work team?

The team is both responsive when it comes to creating new options, new needs, and is attentive to the various problems or bugs encountered. We are in regular contact, we talk often, either by telephone or through Intercom.

Thanks to Mr. Leparoux for agreeing to give his testimony; user feedback is at the heart of our approach, and helps us improve our product on a daily basis.
