Joaquín Guimerá is responsible for the maintenance and engineering department at Lipotec, in Gavà (Barcelona region) in Spain and a Mobility Work CMMS user. With 38 years of experience in the world of industrial maintenance, he has been working for Lipotec for 12 years already, a group company. Lubrizol specialized in the production of cosmetic active ingredients and in the development and production of final cosmetic products for other companies.

Mr. Guimerá agreed to share with us his experience of remotely deploying Mobility Work, the next-generation maintenance management platform. Thanks to him for agreeing to be the first user outside France to testify!

Mobility Work: “How did you find out about Mobility Work? What convinced you to test the product?

Joaquín Guimerá : I've been on LinkedIn for several years; one day I came across a post about a social network for industrial maintenance. Driven by curiosity, I became interested and researched it. I quickly realized that it was the maintenance management tool that my department needed.

Indeed, we had been trying to implement a CMMS solution for a year, without success, because it was too complicated. After convincing my manager that we were wasting time and money, we took the plunge by investing in Mobility Work instead.

Can you tell us about the deployment of Mobility Work CMMS in your factory?

We set it up from day one and integrated the equipment gradually, according to our needs. To be very honest, setting up Mobility Work was very easy, and we were able to count on the help of your team when we needed it.

We also have the advantage of being a SMES, which allowed us to deploy Mobility Work without too much hassle.

What are the advantages of Mobility Work in your opinion?

In my opinion, the main advantage of Mobility Work is its simplicity: we did not have to explain how it works to anyone, at most a few small steps of use. We can also mention the ease of access to information, as well as its quality.

Finally, and perhaps this is its strong point, I would like to talk about the team behind the product, which was able to identify the needs of manufacturers and provide an effective response, in constant improvement.

What is the feature that you use the most and that you can't live without?

We do not use the social network aspect of the application, the purpose of which is to communicate with other external user companies.

What interests us is to know what work should be done on each piece of equipment, which maintenance technician is in charge of this intervention, and how much time was spent on this work.

This data makes it possible to generate the information necessary to optimize the operation of the company and reduce industrial maintenance costs.

In addition, we are starting to use features that we have not yet had the opportunity to discover until now, such as the control of spare parts in critical installations.

What functionality that does not yet exist would you like to see developed primarily on Mobility Work CMMS?

We are constantly subject to audits, both ISO compliance audits and hygiene audits, or audits commissioned by various customers for whom we are suppliers.

In this context, we are systematically asked to provide our preventive maintenance plan. I would have liked to be able to easily present a calendar in which only scheduled preventive tasks appear. I would also have liked to be able to show only the associated preventive actions on the equipment page, and nothing else.

In other words, we would like to be able to clearly separate the preventive from the rest.

Finally, we would also need an automatic backup of all the information generated each month, which is essential to ensure the traceability of our interventions required by these audits.

What are your company's future projects concerning Mobility Work CMMS?

Continue to use the application, and get to know the various features that we are not using yet. I would also like to start using the application from a mobile device.

Are you satisfied with the responsiveness of the Mobility Work team?

I am not satisfied, I am very satisfied: I got almost immediate answers to all my questions, and the problems we may have encountered - although not many - have been resolved.
